Aged in American white oak (Quercus Alba) casks, the Aberlour A'Bunadh Alba is magnificently impregnated with the aromas of this type of wood, which is denser than French oak. It's a "brut de fût" whisky, with no added water, reminiscent of the powerful taste of old malts, in the pure tradition of 19th-century malts. Pure and invigorating, thanks to its long ageing in bourbon casks, the nose reveals notes of orchard fruit, honey and vanilla, while the palate is more acidic, with hints of grapefruit, shortbread and sugared almonds, and a subtly toasted finish. |
