The estate and the wine |
Leading figure in Spanish viticulture, Jorge Monzon has acquired a solid experience through working with some of the world’s greatest stars, such as Romanée Conti and Vega Sicilia. On his Dominio del Aguila vineyard, which is organically farmed and biodynamically managed, he has excelled for over ten years in the production of wines of great intensity that have caught the attention of wine critics from around the world.
Such a success has led him to a legendary achievement, joining Pingus in the ultra closed circle of estates earning a 100/100 from Parker in Ribera del Duero… |

The intense 2020 Red Ribera del Duero Picaro is the estate's first step on the ladder, but it's a long way up! It's a sparkling wine of incredible depth, carried by velvety micro-tannins. From an area of old vines, the wine is vinified with indigenous yeasts and aged in barrels for 15 months. The fruit is precise, extremely fresh and nuanced, with subtle notes of blackcurrant and violet; without doubt the best vintage of this wine! |
