The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Founded in 2015 by Anita Khunel, Domaine Anita seduces with its wines of ideal precision and balance. The winemaker is no novice, having trained at her family estate for many years before taking the path of independence. This former champion road cyclist is also a passionate and adventurous person, ready to tame the Gamay grape variety in the best areas of the Beaujolais crus, including Moulin-à-Vent.
Wine A Selection Committee favorite rated 94/100, the 2021 Red Moulin-à-vent Les Caves Très Vieille Vigne is built for aging. Crafted out of 80 year old vines on granite slopes, it is a dense and concentrated Gamay, with very pure aromas of blackcurrant and spices. The grapes are picked at perfect maturity, creating a wine of great elegance that will age beautifully. A model of its appellation for sure.
Vinification Hand harvested, vinified in whole bunches, matured in concrete tanks for 6 months and in bottle for 4 months.
