The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Carried by the excellence of the Antinori family, one of Italy's most emblematic lineages, Prunotto stands as a prominent figure of the Piedmont region. In this sacred place of viticulture, near Alba, the estate is one of its historic labels, formulating graceful, elegant and racy wines, carried by all the charm of the nebbiolo grape variety and the expertise of this great House.
Wine A symbol of elegance, the 2018 Red Barolo opens on notes of violets, roses, spices and wild berries with an incredible finesse. This harmonious and delicate bouquet slips into a supple, balanced palate with silky tannins; the eloquent embodiment of a perfectly accomplished nebbiolo, to be savored now or over another decade.
Vinification Hand harvested. Destemming and crushing. Maceration on the skins for about 8 days at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Malolactic fermentation completed before the end of winter. Aging for at least 18 months in oak barrels of different capacities.
