The estate and the wine |
Quite simply, it's one of the best Saint-Joseph wines we've tasted this year! Bastien Jolivet is an artist working at the Jolivet estate, and his reputation is soaring thanks to the impressive quality of his wines. The hillside vineyards on granite, the organic viticulture, and the family and human dimension of the vineyard all contribute to a tailor-made approach in which the winemaker's talent is fully expressed. |

With aromas of violets, soot, and smoke, the 2021 red Saint-Joseph delivers a fresh, very juicy, perfectly managed wine of great finesse. One-third of the grapes are whole harvested, and the wine is matured in large wooden containers without new barrels, contributing to the wine's delicacy and great suavity. A superb Saint Joseph, to be discovered as a matter of urgency. Rated 93/100 by the Committee. |
