The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Established in 1731, the House of Bouchard Père & Fils owes much of its fame to the intelligent moves it made throughout its history enabling it to create one of the finest vineyard estates in Burgundy. After 10 faultless vintages, it definitely sits among the ranks of the greatest Wine Houses and can proudly be considered one of the stars of French wine production.
Wine The Montagny 1er Cru Blanc 2009 shows superb aromatic finesse. Grown on one of the finest terroirs of the Côte Chalonnaise, the production of the appellation is also exclusively white. Typical of this terroir, we find delicious hazelnut notes. A mineral touch accompanies a superb, refreshing, autumnal finish.
Vinification Hand harvested, total or partial de-stalking depending on the vintage, fermentation in small vats and gentle pressing to guarantee optimal vinification. The vatting period lasts 12 to 15 days, aging from 10 to 18 months in oak casks, of which 60 to 85% are new.
