The estate and the wine |

Juan Antonio Ponce is the new muse of the Spanish wine industry. In the Rioja, he creates astonishingly fresh and pure wines. Spotted by Robert Parker ever since his first vintages, this great winemaker has been very active in the Manchuela region, near Valencia. A sector where he brilliantly demonstrates that it is possible to produce wines of very high quality.
In organic viticulture, rehabilitating the autochthonous grape varieties and relying on old vines, the estate magnifies the Manchuela appellation, crafting wines of surprising freshness. Often "parkerized", regularly obtaining the best marks from the critic, it still remains under the radar but its popularity is on the rise: we know you’re going to love it! |

The 2021 Red Manchuela Clos Lojen is a marvelous red wine that magnifies the local bobal grape. The ripe, infused nose highlights beautiful floral notes, of peony in particular, and wild blackberry. The palate is fresh and youthful, with a good concentration and firmness thanks to its youth. A brilliant wine, both suave and deep, which will be able to age for another ten years without any problem. Happiness guaranteed! Rated 93/100 by Parker. |
