The estate and the wine |
Château La Cardonne, a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, enjoys a superb geological and geographical location on the northern edge of the Médoc peninsula, with vines planted on the beautiful Pyrenean gravel hilltops of the Blaignan, Ordonnac and Prignac areas. For a long time, this estate near Saint-Estèphe was under the benevolent wing of Château Lafite-Rothschild, which restructured it in the 1980s. Strengthened by exemplary work in the vineyards, the estate now produces vintages of incredible consistency. |

The 2009 Médoc Château La Cardonne perfectly represents this splendid solar, ripe and concentrated vintage. The fullness of the material is matched by the energy of the fruit. Firm, precise tannins give body to this great wine. Aromas of black fruits, slightly woody, are enhanced by the first notes of graphite and undergrowth. True Médoc classicism! |
