The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Château Montus is completely unique.  In the space of forty years, Alain Brumont has completely revolutionized the Madiran appellation, raising his estate to the top of the French winemaking world. Born on these lands, the winemaker knows them by heart and his vision and sense of perfection have forced him to push his limits further and further, outperforming his peers.

Uncompromising, perfectionist, visionary, Alain Brumont creates timeless, long-lasting wines that have nothing to envy the most prized Bordeaux crus... The wines are monumental, of obvious mastery and complexity, and delivered with incredible strength and elegance.
Wine The 2017 Red Madiran is a very beautiful expression of tannat, the king grape of the appellation. Of beautiful intensity, it carries beautiful aromas of black fruits, ink and graphite, well installed in a pure palate that is firm but with very fine tannins. Maturity, aromatic purity, density, richness: everything comes together perfectly to form this bottle already ready to be served with a duck breast or a beef cheek with carrots. Rated 16/20 by our Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested, long maceration, punching of the cap at the beginning of fermentation, 18 months maturation in cement and stainless steel vats on fine lees.

Wine Another success by Laurent Martray! The 2016 Red Vieilles Vignes Côte de Brouilly is a sapid, joyful red, with a very fine texture, sailing pleasantly between aromas of morello cherry and small red fruits. This is a Gamay that will, with time, take on Burgundian accents, especially in this cool, tense vintage, which offers a pleasing prospect! Serve it slightly chilled, paired with veal or beef, or simply with a snack and some artisanal charcuterie. Rated 92/100 by our Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested, vinification from 14 to 16 days, for 50% of the harvest in whole bunches, with a semi-carbonic maceration. Aged in tuns and barrels.
