The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine An iconic address in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Chante-Cigale remains our absolute favorite regardless of the vintage! Alexandre Favier, the master of the estate, has infused it with new momentum, driven by organic farming and a heritage of absolutely fabulous old vines. This estate is currently producing exceptional wines, pulsating with the very essence of the greatest Châteauneufs!

It's a success we've fully recognized and eagerly anticipate with each unveiling of the new vintage.
Wine In perfect harmony, centered on ripe fruit, the 2021 red Châteauneuf-du-Pape presents a very classic profile for the appellation, with grenache taking the lead. Black fruit, fine spices, and a balsamic touch are delivered with intensity, in a charming aromatic display that continues on the palate. The full-bodied texture, framed by a reassuring and understated oakiness, remains smooth and elegant, without excess. A bottle ready for ten years, unless decanted to enjoy immediately. A reliable value not to be missed in this well-balanced vintage.
Vinification Hand-harvested. Vines about 50 years old. Maceration for 21 to 24 days with punching down and pumping over. Aged 70% in stainless steel vats and 30% in oak barrels and foudres for 15 to 18 months.
