The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A winemaker at the pinnacle of his art, Christophe Cordier makes his wines shine with a marked and remarkable patina. Majestic in the mâconnais, he has held sway on Beaujolais soils with the same success for some years now. Today we are able to bring you a comprehensive sample of the "savoir-faire" of this exceptional winemaker, hailed a "hero" by the Wine Advocate and "man of the year" by the Bourgogne Aujourd'hui magazine.
Wine Christophe Cordier sought to assert his "savoir-faire" on the neighbouring soils of the Beaujolais, in Morgon to be precise. Selected from among the best hillsides, the grapes of Morgon Côte de Py 2009 are this region's diamonds in the rough. With this greatest vintage of the last thirty years, the result is indisputable: extreme depth of fruit and a silky finish. They turn this Gamay into the ultimate Beaujolais experience.
Vinification Grapes selected by Christophe Cordier, the grapes are pressed whole, the juices are transferred into cask applying only gravity, aging takes place in 60 litre casks for 12 months, no fining or filtration. Yield: 30 hl/ha.
