The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A winemaker at the pinnacle of his art, Christophe Cordier makes his wines shine with a marked and remarkable patina. Majestic in the mâconnais, he has held sway on Beaujolais soils with the same success for some years now. Today we are able to bring you a comprehensive sample of the "savoir-faire" of this exceptional winemaker, hailed a "hero" by the Wine Advocate and "man of the year" by the Bourgogne Aujourd'hui magazine.
Wine From vineyards adjacent the future Pouilly-Fuissé "premiers crus", we are instantly charmed by the mineral character of an extraordinary Mâcon Fuissé 2009. The whole is rich, iodized and perfectly balanced, releasing a variety of floral and white fleshed fruit aromas. It carries the breeding of its "terroir" like a battle flag, a real tasting experience.
Vinification Clean, painstaking viticulture, hand harvesting at full maturity while taking care to retain very good acidity. Whole grapes are gently pressed for 4 hours, the juices are transferred into casks applying only gravity, 12 months cask-aging on all the lees, no fining or filtration, bottled by gravity. Yield: 35 hl/ha.
