The estate and the wine |
Pascal Barlet and his nephew Julien manage this lovely estate in Jongieux, La Cave du Prieuré, located on the pilgrimage route to Compostela. The 30 hectares vineyard is half planted with red wines, a rarity in the region. But it also profiles very beautiful white wines, and memorable gamay wines that are sure to make some Beaujolais winemakers swoon! All this at very interesting prices. |

We just love it! The 2020 Red Savoie Gamay de Jongieux is a model of finesse, a very ripe Gamay that is both fresh, light, and perfectly mature. Irresistible, with a black cherry tone, the palate is crunchy and delicious. It is a seductive and jovial wine. Rated 92/100 by the Committee. |
