The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Château Latour is one of the most famous and prestigious estates in Bordeaux. With unrivalled consistency, under the masterly guidance of Frédéric Engerer, this 1er Grand Cru Classé du Médoc is at the top of its game every year, constantly pushing back the limits of refinement and excellence. The estate's transition to organic farming further enhances the expression of the terroir, and the wines produced here have no equal.
Wine A rare power and generosity of texture! The 2016 Les Forts de Latour exudes a magnificent sense of fullness, with a dense, remarkably balanced black fruit and cedar structure. Sumptuously fleshed out and nobly seated on tannins of great uprightness, this vintage of remarkable stature augurs well for the future.
Vinification Hand harvested. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats for around 3 weeks. Aged in French oak barrels.
