The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Owned by the Comtes von Neipperg—renowned for their legendary Premier Crus Classés La Mondotte and Canon-la-Gaffelière—alongside Didier Miqueu, Clos Marsalette upholds the same exacting standards of excellence as Bordeaux’s finest estates.

Nestled in Pessac-Léognan, on a terroir marked by stunning gravelly slopes, this estate has built a track record of success. Meticulous vineyard practices and precision aging ensure wines of exceptional quality. From its 12 hectares, Clos Marsalette produces radiant, Merlot-driven reds, consistently acclaimed by critics.
Wine Rich, concentrated, and beautifully crafted, the 2019 Red Pessac-Léognan has been aged one-third in new oak, adding depth without overpowering its natural elegance. The nose is irresistibly enticing, with layers of ripe black fruit, graphite, and a touch of truffle. On the palate, it’s bold yet refined, with a dense, structured core wrapped in silky tannins and deep flavors of black fruit and licorice. Generous and beautifully balanced, this is a wine built for indulgence—perfect with a prime rib steak or a slow-cooked dish. Ready to enjoy now, but will continue to evolve for another 6 to 8 years. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested from 20 September to 5 October 2019, vinification in wooden and concrete vats, 28 days‘ maceration, 12 months’ ageing on delicate lees in new barrels (35%).
