The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Owned by the Parinet family and awarded one star by the RVF wine guide—a respected French publication for wine enthusiasts—Château du Moulin-à-Vent is a flagship estate of the appellation. Covering 30 hectares farmed organically, this iconic cru sits on remarkable terroirs, some of which may soon earn Premier Cru status.

A key player in the region, the estate relentlessly raises its standards: ultra-high planting density (up to 14,000 vines per hectare), organic farming since 2013, horse-tended work in the oldest vineyards, and naturally low yields—all dedicated to exceptional quality.

The old Gamay vines thrive on granite sands rich in iron oxide and silica, producing concentrated, juicy grapes that create some of the region’s finest wines—wines that easily rival the most prestigious from Burgundy and the Rhône Valley.
Wine The 2023 Moulin-à-Vent Red is a textbook example of juicy Gamay with vibrant, crisp fruit. It opens with ripe red berries and cherry notes, alongside subtle hints of pepper and violet. The palate is fresh and lively, framed by a balanced texture that’s substantial yet restrained, with silky tannins. A well-rounded wine that benefits from decanting or serving in large Riedel glasses, ready to enjoy now or cellar for up to five years.
Vinification Hand harvested. 25% whole grapes, cold pre-fermentation. Aged for 18 months, 40% in French oak barrels.

Wine in conversion to organic farming.
