The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine An old Châteauneuf-du-Pape family, the Mestre clan are long-time pillars of the appellation. The estate takes its name from the Côte de l’Ange vineyard, and today it's in the hands of the founders’ heirs—Corinne Gasparri and her son Jules—who tend around ten hectares scattered across the region, covering the full range of soils: limestone, sand, clay, and iron-rich subsoils.

Though it's stayed under the radar, this estate absolutely deserves the spotlight. The wines are finely crafted and matured with finesse, using a smart mix of concrete tanks and barrels—no heavy-handedness, just balance.

This rare white wine—made from Roussanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc, and Grenache Blanc—is drawn from just 1.3 hectares nestled on the top-tier terroirs of Grand Devès and La Nerthe, on limestone-clay soils in the western part of the appellation.
Wine A favorite of the Selection Committee, the 2024 Châteauneuf-du-Pape White is a rare, small-production wine—and an absolute triumph. Pure and vibrant, it opens with elegant floral aromas and a subtle hint of honey. The nose is instantly captivating, with a beautiful sense of harmony. On the palate, it’s smooth yet precise, bursting with energy and freshness, perfectly balanced with a delicate touch of anise. This is a beautifully refined wine, shaped by discreet aging that lets the terroir sing—nothing showy, just finesse. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested. Pneumatic pressing. Vinification: 80% in vats and 20% in barrels with stirring of the lees.
