The tasting |

Dark red almost black with purple reflections. |

|
A well-balanced and very mature aromatic palette with delicate smoky aromas brought by the Syrah and a floral touch certainly brought by the Grenache. |

This wine has a full, rich and luxurious structure, with numerous, tight and semi-powerful tannins. A fresh, dynamic, intense, and precise wine. A very nice discovery! |

The estate and the wine |
|
|
Maxence Panchau is a 2.0 winemaker who took over the Caussarelle family estate with the help of participatory financing. A trendy practice that allowed him to invest in order to fulfill his dream: produce great wines on his family land in the Pic Saint-Loup.
This appellation, bordering the Mediterranean coast, is one of the most popular in the south of France today, offering sumptuous red wines that are both fresh and powerful. |

A Selection Committee Favorite rated 93/100, the 2020 red Pic Saint-Loup Les 116 Complices displays the smoky, leafy notes of the Syrah grape; a palette of very beautiful maturity, completed by the floral touch of the Grenache grape, which bodes well for the future. The ample, full-bodied and voluptuous palate confirms these initial gourmet sensations; we particularly salute the intensity, freshness, dynamism, and precision of this red wine, underlined by beautiful tannins. A semi-powerful wine, to be decanted for 1 to 2 hours and to be served with a shoulder of lamb confit or a beef cheek. A very nice discovery. |
