The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Rated three stars by the prestigious French wine guide the RVF, Domaine Comte Abbatucci is one of Corsica’s crown jewels. Jean-Charles Abbatucci, a passionate defender of native grape varieties, has built a living conservatory of Corsican heritage vines and dedicated his work to expressing the island’s true identity through wine.

Farmed biodynamically for over two decades, the estate has become a reference point. Its wines are now regarded among the very best in France, shaped through meticulous blends that bring these ancient grapes back to life, with partial maturation in large wooden casks.
Wine The 2023 White Diplomate d’Empire, classified as a Vin de France, reveals a beautifully complex aromatic profile thanks to the diversity of grape varieties in its blend. Carefully aged on its lees in 500-liter barrels followed by stainless steel tanks—only the finest lots are selected for the final cuvée—this wine is then bottle-aged in the cellar to refine its character. It opens with an enchanting bouquet of white flowers, wild herbs from the Corsican maquis, peach, mirabelle plum, and citrus zest. On the palate, it’s vibrant and intense, with a broad, silky texture that carries through the wine’s intricate layers. The finish is mineral and delicately saline, with refined bitterness that adds length and elegance. A gastronomic white of real stature, perfect alongside veal or salmon carpaccio.
Vinification Hand harvested. Blend of several plots in the press or pressed separately, depending on the ripeness of the different grape varieties.
Direct pressing of whole or destemmed grapes, depending on the ripeness of the stems. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in demi-muid barrels.
Aged in demi-muid barrels and on lees for 9 months, then in stainless steel vats for 6-7 months after blending the best batches. Aged in bottles for at least 6 months.

Certified biodynamic wine.
