The estate and the wine |

The Cantalapiedra family has been growing vines in Spain for generations, rooted in La Seca at the heart of Rueda. The modern story began in 1949 when young Heliodoro planted his first vineyard at just 15 years old. Since 2014, his grandson Manuel has led the renewal of Cantalapiedra Viticultores, farming with a thoughtful approach that goes beyond organic, embracing biodynamics. In the cellar he favors spontaneous fermentations and drastically limits sulfur, while keeping the wines razor-precise. This philosophy gives them a strong, authentic identity, so it’s no surprise our sommeliers were instantly won over by this discovery. |

The 2022 White Le Majuelo del Chiviritera La Seca shines in the glass with an intense, brilliant golden hue. On opening, a gentle touch of controlled oxidation gives way to a complex bouquet of yellow-fleshed fruit, passion fruit, kumquat and floral broom notes. The palate is striking in its fullness and vibrant texture, combining structure, body and power with real chew. A lively acidity drives the finish, confirming the strong personality of this distinctive, authentic and finely crafted wine. A great White with character, offering at least four years of aging potential. |
