The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A legendary name in Alsace and a shining star with a 3-star rating in the RVF Guide, Domaine Albert Boxler is a dream for wine lovers. They represent the pinnacle of Alsatian winemaking, crafting wines that resonate deeply with emotion.

Jean Boxler's wines are a masterclass in balance and pure expression. Each bottle captures the essence of this illustrious terroir, and the selection we present today simply took our breath away.

We're long-standing admirers, captivated by the ethos of this quiet and passionate house. Their modest fifteen-hectare vineyard, with nearly half being Grand Cru, sits on challenging terrains, demanding hands-on attention at every step.
Wine An honest, subtle expression of its south-facing, vertiginous terroir, the 2021 white Alsace Grand Cru Riesling Sommerberg JV is absolutely radiant. The very pure, finely mineralized nose, with notes of spice and ginger, is followed by an equally stylish, pure and concentrated palate, underpinned by fine acids that stretch and refresh. Persistent, saline and crystalline, this great wine carved out of the rock is the perfect match for great fish, Japanese cuisine or, more original, cabbage stuffed with foie gras. Rated 93+/100 by the Committee.
Vinification Hand-harvested. 25-year-old vines, near Niedermorschwihr, granite soil, steep slope. Whole-bunch pressing, static settling, no thermoregulation. Fermentation for 2 to 6 months, then aged on lees for 11 months. Natural residual sugar: 4 g/l (Vin Demi-Sec).
