The estate and the wine |
The Dampt brothers - Emmanuel and Eric - invested in the Chablis region more than thirty years ago. Their goal was to create wines with a strong identity in the three valleys of the Yonne, Serein and Armançon rivers. Their wide range of terroirs delivers wines of precision and accuracy, with a strong regularity. The estate is one of the most beautiful family-run businesses in Burgundy. |

The 2021 White Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre reveals all the fullness of its terroir, perfectly served by an ageing in stainless steel vats, with only 10% of wood. The pure nose, with chalky and fresh butter notes, shows a mineral and delicate register. The ample frame expresses a certain generosity while preserving an acidulous wake which balances the whole. It is still a very young wine, well balanced with fine bitters, to be decanted or waited for a few more years. Rated 93/100 by the Committee. |
