The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine The Dampt brothers - Emmanuel and Eric - invested in the Chablis region more than thirty years ago. Their goal was to create wines with a strong identity in the three valleys of the Yonne, Serein and Armançon rivers. Their wide range of terroirs delivers wines of precision and accuracy, with a strong regularity. The estate is one of the most beautiful family-run businesses in Burgundy.
Wine Adjacent to the Chablis 1er cru Montée de Tonnerre and facing the Grand Cru Blanchot, the 2020 white Chablis Bréchain enjoys an exceptional freshness. The result is an ultra-fine and very pure wine, that is elegant, with floral and citrus accents. The good maturity of the harvest combined with the freshness form a well-balanced, consistent, and powerful wine just like we like them. A model of Chablis with a mineral and saline finish, to be discovered or aged for another 6 years. A Selection Committee Favorite rated 93/100.
Vinification Hand harvested, 100% alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Aged on fine lees for 10 months.
