Bold, outspoken and brilliant, Hervé Bizeul is without doubt one of the most famous and respected winemakers in France. In just 30 years, he has turned Clos des Fées into one of the greatest success stories of the Roussillon.
His artisan work on the majestic limestone amphitheater of Vingrau has produced unforgettable wines — crafted with uncommon precision, combining power and finesse in dazzling balance. Nowhere does the idea of a great southern wine make more sense. |

The 2024 Red Côtes Catalanes Le Modeste is a delightful surprise from the Roussillon, all about freshness and lightness. Its bright, delicate carmine color immediately sets the tone for an infused, elegant style that favors finesse over power. The nose charms with its purity, offering crunchy red fruit aromas, subtle floral notes and a fresh herbal touch.
On the palate, it delivers a modern, easy-drinking expression of Catalan terroirs. With a supple, flavorful texture, it blends Grenache Noir, Syrah and old-vine Cinsault, harvested early on schist and clay-limestone soils to preserve natural balance.
This is an honest, lively wine meant for immediate pleasure. Enjoy it within three years to capture its dazzling freshness and precise fruit flavors. A charming wine, both accessible and deeply rooted in its terroir. Rated 90 out of 100 by the Selection Committee. |
