The estate and the wine |
Recognized for its extraordinary quality vintage after vintage, the Domaine Couly-Dutheil is at the forefront of the Chinon appellation. It owes part of its reputation to the two greatest terroirs of Chinon: Clos de l’Olive and Clos de l’Echo. The estate’s classical wines are the perfect example of what makes Cabernet Franc such a powerhouse when the winemaking is up to par with its complex style. |

From a very old flinty clay terroir, the 2017 Red René Couly Chinon explores the highest dimension of Cabernet Franc. With its perfect maturity, exceptionally pure aromas of fruits and nice freshness, it is a delightful and extremely pleasant wine. The palate is rich, well-balanced and rounded up by delicate tannins. An ideal wine to pair with a rack of lamb or some veal. A Selection Committee Favorite, rated 94/100. |
