The estate and the wine |
Domaine du Monteillet has seen 10 generations of wine makers from father to son. Stéphane Montez, who currently runs the estate, brings with him a knowledge of wine making in New Zealand and Australia. The estate's wines get their extraordinary qualities from this coming together of modernity and tradition. |

The domaine du Monteillet's red Cuvée "Fortis" 2008 sums up all the emotion which Côte-Rôtie is capable of giving. The wine gives off power, "Fortis" means courage and solidity in Latin. Under the innate power of this terroir, the wine hides a suppleness and incredible pleasantness. Don't come looking for any coarseness here, everything takes place within a tenderness of quality fruit. Superb! |
