Dario di Vaira is the new rising star of Bolgheri, quickly making waves and earning his place among the region’s top producers. A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aged in barrel with a majority of new oak, the 2019 Bolgheri Superiore Assemblage Red opens with deep, dark fruit aromas layered with complex spice—most notably a hint of cumin. With air, subtle floral notes emerge to add finesse. On the palate, it’s broad and generous, showing rich, opulent texture and beautifully integrated chalky tannins. This is a bold, concentrated wine that impresses with its controlled density, precise aging, and long, resonant finish. A wine of true character and balance. Rated 94/100 by Parker. |
