The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A model winemaker with 2 stars in the RVF Guide, Philippe Alliet consistently produces stunning long-maceration red wines, dazzling in fruit and maturity. His sought-after cuvées have become benchmarks in Chinon and, in recent vintages, continue to display a naturally expressive character that is ever-evolving.

The beautiful slopes of Cravant contribute significantly: these magical terroirs yield a Cabernet Franc of enchanting precision and flavor that easily rivals the greatest Bordeaux expressions.
Wine Exhibiting exquisite purity, the 2021 red Chinon Vieilles Vignes showcases a perfect expression of graphite and finely macerated black fruits, with woodiness that's already perfectly integrated. The palate is in harmony, marked by an irresistible duo of freshness and maturity in a clean, flavorful style, extending its expression with the cool straightness of the vintage, adding an extra layer of finesse and elegance. As always with Alliet, there's an impeccable tannic definition, where the winemaker skillfully softens the natural austerity of Cabernet with real delicacy. Don't hesitate to decant it or let it rest in the cellar for another two years; it's a great Chinon for aging, comfortable for 10 years or more. Rated 94-95/100 by the Committee.
Vinification Hand-harvested, vines aged between 70 and 90 years, aged in concrete vats for 18 months.
