The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A benchmark winemaker with 2 stars from the French wine guide RVF, Philippe Alliet consistently produces long-maceration reds that stand out for their depth and perfect ripeness. His sought-after cuvées have become true Chinon benchmarks, maintaining their pure, authentic character vintage after vintage.

The exceptional slopes of Cravant play a key role—these prized terroirs bring out Cabernet Franc’s precision and complexity, delivering vibrant aromas and remarkable depth that easily rival some of Bordeaux’s finest expressions.
Wine The 2022 Red Chinon Vieilles Vignes is a concentrated, well-ripened expression of Cabernet Franc that benefits from at least an hour of decanting to fully reveal its aromas. Notes of black fruit and a hint of graphite are complemented by a subtle touch of oak, adding depth and complexity. On the palate, it shows impressive structure with no signs of over-ripeness, despite the warmth of the vintage. The wine is dense and refined, driven by pronounced tannins that promise excellent aging potential. Its power is balanced by fresh acidity, leading to a long, vibrant finish. This is a wine built for the cellar, with a 10-year horizon ahead. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee and 95/100 by the RVF Guide.
Vinification Hand harvested, vines aged between 70 and 90 years, matured in concrete vats for 18 months.
