The estate and the wine |
The Loire Valley is an endless source of treasures, and is constantly providing us with new and exciting estates! Located in Chinon, the Pierre Sourdais estate is a major discovery of our Selection Committee, offering a fantastic price-pleasure ratio for its category. Caroline and Sylvain Sourdais run it in organic and biodynamic agriculture, shaping on 30 hectares of vines sumptuous cabernet wines of precision and brightness. |

A blend of different terroirs, the 2021 red Chinon Tradition finds its balance in the diversity of its origins. Between the freshness of the gravel, the consistency of the clay-limestone and the finesse of the flint, it produces a salient wine, expressing ripe Cabernet grapes that are concentrated and rich, but without any excess. In this high-energy vintage, the wine has a great deal of finesse and freshness, with the graphite signature of the great terroirs. A superb price-pleasure, to drink or aging. Rated 92/100 by the Committee. |
