The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Mastering Grenache in its most intimate subtleties, Dominique Ay is a figure of Gigondas, now successfully passed on to his children Anne-Sophie and Christophe. The Raspail-Ay estate is now reaching new heights, forging wines of rare complexity and finesse.

The high altitude terroir - 19 hectares in a single block with vines averaging 60 years old - allows the estate’s wines to retain a nice freshness, while the long maturation in large containers, in tuns and then in concrete vats, polishes the palate.

With only one Gigondas wine per vintage, the estate is selling out quickly, and produces without a doubt one of the most beautiful wines in the appellation...
Wine Still dense and firmly constituted, the 2020 red Gigondas presents ripe and fragrant aromas of fruits such as raspberry, strawberry and warm garrigue. The palate is powerful and robust, formulating a rather dense Gigondas for the moment, but whose appeal lies in patience and expectation, for one thing is certain: its aging capacity is great and in three or four years it will deliver on its full potential.
Vinification Manual harvesting of 55 year old vines. 100% de-stemming. Long vatting in concrete tanks with temperature control. 100% traditional maturation in old oak barrels of 35 to 130 hl. Slight filtration at bottling.
