The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A cornerstone of Gevrey-Chambertin, Estate Henri Rebourseau boasts one of the region’s most enviable collections of vineyards, with nearly every Grand Cru you could hope for. Over the years, it has won over Burgundy lovers with wines that capture flawless fruit expression in the purest Burgundian tradition.

Backed by the Bouygues family yet still run by its historic owners, the estate has taken a giant leap forward, embracing a profound transformation in both scale and style.

The vineyards are now being converted to biodynamics, a gleaming new winery has been built, and state-of-the-art equipment allows for gentle gravity-flow handling. Ageing has been reimagined, and the wines are more precise, more concentrated, and more true to their origins than ever before. This deep overhaul has catapulted the estate onto the same level as Burgundy’s most revered names.
Wine Brimming with electric tension, the 2023 Red Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru offers a lifted, subtle, and mineral structure of impressive complexity. It’s the perfect reflection of its limestone terroir, enhanced by a generous proportion of whole-cluster fermentation that brings out layers of dark fruit wrapped in beautifully judged oak. Honestly, there’s nothing standing in the way of this wine’s long, graceful evolution—it’s built to last for years. Rated 95/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested. Area of 0.96 hectares, planted in 1956, 1958, 1974, 1981, and 1986. 100% destemmed, vinified in open stainless steel vats. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
