Recognized as the Gamay Maestro and crowned Winemaker of the Year in the 2024 by La Revue du Vin de France Guide, Eric Janin, alongside his daughter, showcases the pinnacle of excellence their estate has reached over the years. Established in 1983, their vineyard has set the gold standard for the entire appellation. Janin's work can be best described as a blend of understated elegance, humility, and sheer talent. After three dedicated attempts, the exclusive 2022 Ventealapropriete Moulin-à-Vent was born! For us, it encapsulates the essence of the appellation: an aromatic infusion of licorice mingled with the scents of ripe black cherries, sophisticated elegance, a full-bodied mid-palate that underscores the depth and freshness of the 2022 vintage. There's an invigorating energy that sparks your palate, that renowned salinity echoing the minerality drawn from the old vineyards that birthed this wine. The ratings are high, and rightfully so, with a unanimous score of 95-97/100! |
