The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine In the heart of the best terroirs of Pomerol, Château L'Eglise Clinet is an enclave of 5.5 hectares skilfully managed by Denis Durantou, one of the most accomplished stylists of the appellation. The deep old gravels mixed with clay at the top of the plateau are a unique feature of this estate’s wines, granting them a floral charm and extremely smooth tannins. Evolving beautifully through the ages, this is a wine that can easily be drunk over the next ten years.
Wine With its incredibly long aging potential, the 2017 Red Pomerol Château L'Eglise Clinet is nonetheless impressive already at this youthful stage. Notes of black fruits, cocoa, mocha and aniseed form an insistent and aromatic nose, of incredible freshness and elegance. This vintage particularly highlights the Merlot grape variety, with smooth and polished tannins of great energy. A wonderful success!
Vinification Hand harvested. Matured for 18 months in barrels.
