The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A true haven in Rasteau and awarded 1 star by the French wine guide RVF, Domaine des Escaravailles lies high up in the appellation on its freshest terroirs. For 70 years, the Ferran family has crafted dry wines bursting with juicy fruit and superb texture, along with some of the finest sweet wines in the region.
Wine The 2022 Red Rasteau La Ponce delivers a warm yet refined expression of the Grenache-Syrah blend. The nose bursts with aromas of ripe black fruits, citrus peel, sweet spices, and exotic nuances, offering both intensity and complexity. On the palate, the wine shows finely judged extraction with smooth, generous fruit, balanced structure, and a well-integrated warmth that speaks of real craftsmanship.

Here, the full depth of southern Grenache comes through, supported by Syrah, in a style where richness meets perfect balance. Best served slightly chilled at 13–14°C, it can be enjoyed right away while also holding beautifully for another 4 to 5 years. Awarded 92/100 by the Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested grapes. Total destemming before fermentation in concrete wine. Aged for 15 months in barrels for the Syrah and in concrete wine for the Grenache.
