The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A true star of Givry and twice awarded by La Revue du Vin de France — France’s leading wine authority — Domaine François Lumpp has won the hearts of those who value finesse and elegance. The wines are crafted with remarkable precision, aged with care, and built for the long haul.

Now led by the next generation, the Lumpp family continues to raise the bar, shaping high-calibre cuvées with admirable skill. The use of 70% new oak is particularly well-judged — perfectly integrated and never overdone. The whites, aged in 400-litre barrels, retain a fresh, lightly mischievous character.

Here you’ll find some of the most refined wines in the Côte Chalonnaise, with beautifully pure aromas and flavours.
Wine The 2023 Givry Premier Cru À Vigne Red comes from a 2.45-hectare parcel of limestone and fine marl soils, and consistently delivers a wine that’s fresh, refined, and impressively elegant. This is a Premier Cru with real dimension — combining vibrant energy, depth, and precision. It’s a wine of striking finesse and lift, with the kind of balance that puts it on par with some of the more prestigious names from the Côte de Nuits. With over a decade of aging potential ahead, this is a standout that’s built to impress.
Vinification The grapes are hand-harvested and fully destemmed. A cold pre-fermentation maceration is followed by alcoholic fermentation and a month-long maceration in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 70% of which are new, adding depth and complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

It undergoes an additional 5 months of aging in stainless steel to bring balance and freshness, followed by a gentle filtration using Kieselguhr earth. Bottling is scheduled for February 25, 2025.
