Combining structure and depth with extreme color intensity, the 2018 Red Guimaraens Port carries beautiful, rich, ripe fruit aromas that are very enchanting. These generous dark berries and chocolate notes are mixed with fresh acidity, robust tannins perfectly integrated and a depth of flavors typical of this vintage. Already ultra seductive, this port can be savored immediately; however, its aging potential should not be forgotten either... The choice is yours! Ideal with a marbled pastry or a dark chocolate dessert. Rated 94/100 by Wine Spectator, and 95/100 by Neal Martin and Decanter.
Vinification Hand harvested. Fermentation of 72 hours before mutage (addition of vinic water). Aging in old wooden tuns of large capacity. Bottling in July 2020 and marketing in early 2021. Residual sugars: 99 g/l.
