The estate and the wine |
The Guy Farge estate successfully produces magnificent wines in the most beautiful areas of the Northern Rhône Valley; a work of art which Thomas, the new generation, is still perpetuating. The terraced plots, the completely manual work, partly done with horses, a meticulous approach to winemaking: nothing is left to chance. All that remains in the bottle is the truth of a great wine: delicious and sensitive aromas, of bright fruit. |

The 2020 Red Saint-Joseph Terroir de Granit is a perfect example of the balance between soil and grape variety, in this case a pure Syrah grown on granite. With ripe notes of fruit and firm but not austere tannins, it unfolds a straightforward, precise palate with flavors of black fruits, spices, licorice and smoke. It has a nice body and its potential is promising. We will wait one or two years before appreciating it with a nice stewed meat or lamb chops. |
