The estate and the wine |
A 1st Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion, ideally situated on the slope that extends Ausone, Château La Gaffelière ranks among the elite of Bordeaux's finest. Championing a classic and creamy style, and boasting a beautifully exposed hillside terroir, it produces distinguished wines, full-bodied and superior to many of their contemporaries, especially in outstanding vintages.
Having returned to the spotlight thanks to a gentle revolution that allowed for the vineyard's restoration, with an emphasis on cabernet franc, high density planting, and massal selection, the estate continues to amaze and promises more surprises in the future. |

Buoyed by a grandiose year of great freshness, the 2016 Red Saint-Emilion Grand Cru La Dame de Gaffelière is now available at just the right time. Supple, elegant and refined, it perfectly matches the style of the vintage in a more accessible version that's already so tasty. A lovely, airy bottle to drink now or over the next 5 to 6 years. |
