The estate and the wine |
One of Spain’s rising stars, Guimaro crafts extremely precise and beloved wines. Hailing from a tiny area in the northwest of the Peninsula, the estate works its local grape varieties by hand, through organic farming, and at a high altitude, on granite, schist, and sand soils. |

Pure mencia with very fine fruit, the 2020 Red Ribeira Sacra Mencia is a real treat! It gives off an abundance of fruit reminiscent of black cherry, in a fresh, finely peppered, elegant, juicy and racy frame. Proof if it were needed that Spain is a land of great wines. Rated 92/100 by the Committee. |
