The estate and the wine |
At the pinnacle of Burgundy, the Geantet-Pansiot estate offers an unrivaled array of great wines with inimitable charm. These wines of fullness and body are the work of a master winemaker, Vincent Geantet (and now his son Fabien), whose aim is to extract from his terroirs all the intensity of fruit and density of substance they allow. |

A blend of 17 parcels of 75-year-old vines, the 2021 Red Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is a prodigious Pinot Noir of exquisite pedigree. Enhanced by the grace of a fresh vintage, we find here the perfect reading of great Burgundy: elegance, delicacy, and a finely oaked aging that does not constrain the body. A little marvel of execution to drink quietly over 8 to 10 years. Rated 93/100 by the Comité. |
