Very deep and complex yet very fresh on the nose with toasted, vanilla aromas. |

The wine is dense on the palate yet has smooth, fine tannin and a hint of acidity that gives this wine a unique style. |

The estate and the wine |
|
|
Jean Marie Guffens is a very gifted man and well known for having raised the quality level of his Maconnais wines to that of the finest Cote de Beaune grands crus. He is a highly sensitive individual and his wines resonate in time with his deep seated convictions about the importance of aesthetic viticulture. His latest challenge is Château des Tourettes in the Lubéron. He again blows away conventional standards and takes his wines to a prodigious level through his enormous talent and strength of conviction. |

Enfin 2005 is the estate's flagship wine, full and generous on entry. Mature and juicy, it's unbelievable how enjoyable this Syrah is. |

Hand harvested, the grapes are picked at maturity, and more often than not in several sortings. Gentle, carefully controlled pressing is carried out in order to draw out the best of the grape without altering it. The meticulous aging in casks or wooden vats is extremely unusual for wines from this region. |
