The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Newcomer in the Northern Rhone Valley, Jean-François Jacouton is already making a name for himself with his vibrant and sappid wines. A discreet winemaker whose reputation is slowly building and rising to the top of mind for wine professionals and international critics… His straightforward, balanced and elegant wines are a true delight, and we were immediately convinced of his incredible potential!
Wine Marked by aromas of black fruits and spices, the 2019 Red Saint-Joseph Sortilège is still quite a young wine that can be enjoyed over the next 5 years. At this stage, it can be served decanted  for a maximum of flavors. The palate has beautiful aromas of red and black fruits and smooth tannins and a fresh finish. It is a solidly built wine, a great Syrah built for aging to be enjoyed with grilled red meats or in sauce. Rated 90/100 by our Selection Committee.
Vinification Hand harvested, total destemming, vatting for 16 to 18 days with daily punching of the cap and pumping over, aged for 10 months for 50% in oak barrels between 3 and 6 wines and 50% in stainless steel vats.
