The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Jérôme Galeyrand works on magnificent plots of old vines, here he has used all his knowhow to produce authentic wines where he has been able to draw out the best of the terroir and the vintage. Jérome moved to Burgundy in 1996, to the Gevrey plain. Today, he owns 5 hectares spread over the Côte de Nuits: Marsannay, Fixin, Gevrey, etc.
Wine The Côtes de Nuits Villages White 2006 is a rare wine for this appellation. The wine is well woven and deep. The aromas tend to a specific aromatic range in which we can detect dried and pruned fruits. On the palate, the wine is long rather than smooth. It resonates with the power of the Côte de Nuits terroir.
Vinification Traditional vinification. Direct pressing without "rebeche" (the last juice pressed) or maceration with skin contact, followed by low temperature fermentation with natural yeasts. Alcoholic fermentation and aging in wood. For the 2006 vintage, the wine fermented in casks until the start of the summer.
