The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A skilled and discreet winemaker, Jean-Pierre Large serves as estate manager at Domaine Cheysson—a much-admired property we've proudly featured before.

At the same time, this Gamay virtuoso crafts his own wine: a sublime Morgon made from old vines rooted in the prized Délys terroir, where his family has lived for over 200 years. This celebrated site—also worked by the outstanding Daniel Bouland—yields a magnificent expression of Gamay: juicy, generous, and full of charm.
Wine A Selection Committee favorite, rated 94/100, the 2024 Morgon Les Délys delivers a beautifully ripe expression of Gamay, showcasing the signature minerality of the site and the deep character of the Morgon terroir. It bursts with unique floral tones—rose and raspberry entwined—carried by stunning freshness and pure, unmasked fruit. No oak tricks here—just terroir in its purest form. This is a complete wine: juicy, velvety, and precise, with remarkable elegance and fine tannins that promise excellent ageing potential. A top-tier single-parcel wine on par with the finest bottlings from Daniel Bouland. An absolute delight.
Vinification Hand harvested, traditional semi-carbonic vinification for 10 days. Aged in vats for 6 months.
