A prestigious signature, crowned with the highest critical acclaim, Domaine Jacques Prieur shines at the very summit of French winemaking. It is also the only estate to hold a third of the Côte-d'Or’s Grands Crus.
Its success and reputation are inseparable from Nadine Gublin, the estate’s lead winemaker since 1990, who has shaped a style of remarkable precision, uncompromising yet elegant.
Under the stewardship of the Labruyère family, this historic Beaune estate is arguably living its finest hours. Grand in its range of terroirs and in the quality of its wines, the domaine is more than a safe bet—it’s an essential reference. Managed organically since 1997 (currently in certification), its thirty hectares deliver exceptional fruit, crafted with masterful care. From 25-year-old vines within the Clos des Santenots monopole, the 2017 Volnay Premier Cru Santenots Red is crafted from fully destemmed grapes and aged in 25% new oak. This micro-selection from just 59 ares within the Clos delivers a captivating wine, both floral and aromatic, with a supple, satin-like structure and vibrant energy. On the palate, it reveals delicate spices and notes of cherries in syrup, offering the elegance and balance of a refined Pinot Noir. This vintage is perfectly ready to enjoy now but will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 5 to 10 years, or longer for enthusiasts. Ideal with veal and sage. Rated 95/100 by the Selection Committee. |
