The estate and the wine |
The Lafoy Estate, a historic address in Ampuis, is one of the key estates in the Northern Rhône Valley. The arrival of Gaëtan Lafoy has raised the quality a step further in the quest for freshness and definition. He produces impeccable wines in a natural and very digestible style, with beautiful maturation in wood. |

Produced from a plot planted in 1934, the 2017 Red Côte Rôtie Côte Blonde is a masterful wine, the apotheosis of the estate, with a bright future. Ripe, suave, and remarkably well-balanced, it combines fresh, deep aromas of fruit with a dense, concentrated but not excessive palate, featuring smooth tannins and flavors of black fruits and spices. A very nice discovery. Rated 94/100 by our Selection Committee. |
