The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Owned by the Larrieu family since 1985, this estate is now among the appellation's most popular. Like a metronome perfectly marking the tempo, Jean-Bernard Larrieu masters the vinification and aging of his wines wonderfully well, including the most prestigious Vitatge Vielh and La Magienda.
Wine La Magendia, deemed "the best" of Clos Lapeyre, possesses the highest degree of concentration of the estate. With the 2007 vintage, it brings to the fore the exotic palatability that makes Jurançon so attractive: with an aromatic mix totally based on mango, passion fruit and the thick texture of the apricot. A top class wine!
Vinification Organic farming, direct pressing of whole grapes, 2 to 3 months' fermentation, partly in new casks, 12 months aging in new casks.
