The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Le Bois Sacré is a small 4-hectare vineyard planted on south/southeast-facing slopes overlooking the Pyrenees, at an altitude of 280 meters. The Béarnais climate benefits from both the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenees, which impart freshness and minerality to their wines. The silty-sandy soils, derived from Jurançon puddingstones, with iron-rich sandstone pebbles, often lead to the emergence of aromatic citrus and even exotic fruit flavors, underpinned by a mineral base.
Vinification Hand-picked. Vines on average 25 years old. Fermentation of Petit Manseng in barrels and Gros Manseng in vats. Aged on lees for 6 months, with regular stirring of the lees. Bottled in July 2017. Production of 8,000 bottles. Residual sugars: 64 g/l (sweet wine).
