The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, Clos Fourtet is ideally located on the village’s prized limestone plateau—home to some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Today, it stands as one of the crown jewels of Bordeaux.

With biodynamic farming now at the heart of the estate, the wine has gained even greater clarity in its aroma and flavor profile—especially the expression of ripe, vibrant fruit—while deepening in texture and structure. Under the guidance of the Cuvelier family, who have carefully brought the estate back to its full potential, Clos Fourtet now ranks among the very best on Bordeaux’s Right Bank.
Wine With its impeccable balance and magical elegance, the 2021 Red Clos Fourtet Saint-Émilion Grand Cru embodies the freshness of the vintage, enhanced by refined sophistication and a thrilling limestone character. Olivier Poussier, Best Sommelier in the World, highlights its deep, mineral-driven aromas, taut and linear structure, and vibrant energy. The palate impresses with remarkable freshness, depth, and a long, savory finish that showcases Clos Fourtet’s signature finesse. Rated 96/100 by Olivier Poussier, this is a true benchmark for the estate.
Vinification Hand harvested. Fermentation in whole grapes, without crushing, in small temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for 22 to 30 days, with manual punching of the cap.
